Breastfeeding with a lump

Sorry I'm sure there are lots of these worried about posts but I would like to add one more. I've recently discovered a lump in my right lower breast. When it's full of milk you can see the lump poking out. Im probably also being paranoid but I feel like my baby is rejecting this breast more often. I'm absolutely terrified. I've been referred for a screening at the hospital but not for another couple of weeks. How do you keep sane in the meantime. I have an 8 month old and 2 year old who are my absolute world.Sorry no real purpose to this other than to seek  support from this great community. Thanks ever so much!

  • I had a hard large lump when my son was 4 months old. Turned out to be a breast absess which was drained after ultrasound at the hospital. Sounds like this could be the case with you too, if so just watch out for any symptoms of infection whilst waiting to be seen such as fever or feeling unwell. The gp gave me antibiotics first and then said if does not go away to be seen in the clinic. The antibiotics brought the infection to the surface on my breast and then I was sent straight to breast clinic as it was clearly an absess. Take care x
