Could this lump on my knee be skin cancer?

Hi, I'm a 19 year old girl and I've had a lump on my knee for at least a year now, I can't remember exactly when I noticed it. I've just become really concerned about it in the past week and I've noticed it feels quite sensitive and tingly but I don't know if that's just placebo because I'm so anxious or because I've been touching it so much as I've been so anxious. I'm sending myself over the edge panicking about it and I couldn't get in for a doctors appointment for them to have a look at it until the 12th of July. Any reassurance or just anything would be helpful please

  • Unfortunately no one on this forum is able to tell you for sure whether it's skin cancer or not. Only a doctor's appointment can give you that reassurance. I would try to get a sooner appointment if it's worrying you (sometimes ringing early in the morning and seeing if any cancellations come up).

This could be anything from a bone spur, calcified insect bite, benign growth - skin cancer is only a small possible out of many options. Don't diagnose yourself or worry about something that isn't confirmed.

Best of luck with your trip to the doctors - you'll hopefully be given some good news and this will hopefully not even be in your mind come August!

  • Suggest you get your parents or siblings to help you.
