Could this be bowel / stomach cancer

Hi I'm 29 and I've had the same everyday on and off really loud uncomfortable gurgling noises in my stomach, and my stools are unpredictable sometimes fine sometimes abit soft, I've had blood test ultrasound stool sample all came back negative apart from my kidney function been lower then it should. Can't seem to get too the bottom of it I suggested a colonoscopy and CT scan too my GP but he said there's not really much need for it but it drives me mad and always worry's me so affecting my mental health, just don't really know what to do to get too the bottom of it? Found out I was lactose intolerant and I've cut fair out my diet but I still get the gurgling! Honestly just want some answers anyone else had constant stomach gurgling and found out a cause?

  • Hi Concon,

Sorry to hear about your difficulties, I know it's worrying and you do need to keep visiting your GP if you continue to have symptoms and it's affecting your mental health. Keep a diary of what you eat, drink, bowel movements and other symptoms so you can show identify any patterns as to the cause.

Don't ignore it, I was having problems and was diagnosed with piles and given cream, suppositories and drinks to help. After a couple of visits I just used the over the counter stuff for a couple of years. Fast forward to May 2022. I was passing large blood clots and had a colonoscopy in June where I have a mass of flat polyps throughout my rectum and anus, the largest being about 20mm. I am still waiting for the biopsy results.

Keep the diary and continue to keep your GP updated. The NICE guidelines are quite strict for colonoscopies which I know doesn't help you but I suppose we have to trust these doctors know what they're doing.

    Keep us updated.
