Neck Lump - ENT instead of ultrasound

Hey! I'm looking for info from people who are/were in the same position. I'm a 25 year old woman.

About 10 weeks ago when I had covid I noticed a hard lump on the left side of my neck. I ignored for a little bit but after a week or two decided to make a GP appointment.
At the first we discussed symptoms - overheating and fatigue (and itching). I agreed I was experiencing this heavily, but said that I understand my weight could contribute to this as I have gained a considerable amount since the first lockdown. She felt around my entire neck over a few minutes and found the lump. She asked a few more follow up questions such as if it was painful - no, and advised me to make another appointment the next week.

I made an appointment weeks later instead due to personal problems, and saw a different doctor. She also felt my neck, however she found it right away this time. We discussed much the same and she said she would make a referral for an ultrasound.

I obtained a phone number for where I would be going and asked about waiting times and they quoted over 28 weeks, but advised I go back to my GP if I was feeling concerned.

2 weeks after the second appointment (today) I had another appointment with doctor number 2 and went over my concerns, gave info which I felt could be related to the lump but she was quick to reassure me here. She felt my lump again, and she said it felt as though it was the same size and went through the same questions (such as pain etc). I expressed more concern over whether or not these symptoms were related as they were impacting my daily life (first time taking a sick day in over 12 years, too tired to get out of bed so lateness, cancelled driving lessons and potentially test due to extreme tiredness, needing to sleep on the floor with two fans on me due to overheating, needing to sit with an ice bucket at work etc).

She informed me that I would no longer be getting an ultrasound as the procedure for referrals had changed (?) so instead I would be seeing the ENT and she would escalate this as a matter of urgency, but said she can't guarantee how long I'll be waiting as she completed the referral on front of me. She then asked if my blood had been taken during this 10 week period, told her no, she took them there and then and told me to expect results on Friday or Monday. She said she would call me, but then said I can also cal the surgery to find out.

I've done my best to avoid google and the internet in general but I'm feeling very frightened and alone right now. I thought this would be the best place to come to as so many are in the same or similar position.
Can anyone advise me on what to expect?

thanks!
