Raised ca125

Hi last week I noticed I had lots of missed calls from my GP then a letter came from her to say she was worried as I have markers raised in the CA125 so I am being sent to a rapid access clinic in a few days, with a scan US tonight and a MRI next week

initially I had something's shown in my blood and was told to make an appointment with the nurse for a Ca125 which resulted in all of these appointments

my symptoms are

extreme heavy flow period

bleeding between period

Hormonal problems

swelling and pain in legs

swollen stomach

lefy sided pain

unbearable pain daily

excruciating pain when on period and alternate ovulation

pain is worse on left also pain in upper left back and down left arm

could anyone advise what this could be

  • I'm sorry to hear your ca125 levels are raised Rocketwoman.

I know this will be a worrying time until the results have come through but I hope it helps to know that ca125 levels can also be raised in various non-cancerous conditions, such as menstruation, pregnancy, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease.

Our members who have been in this position will definitely know what you're going through at the moment so I'm sure you will receive some support and advice from them soon, but in the meantime, we're thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed for good news.

    All the best,
