Reassurance?!

Hi.
I am 29 years old, family history of breast cancer. I was on a contraceptive pill for approx 8-10 years in total. Recently I noticed a heavy feeling in right breast, significantly uneven to the left. Milky/clear discharge has began to come from the nipple. I made a GP appointment and a lump was found in the upper/outer side of the breast, with a feeling of thickening of tissue underneath the breast. An appointment was made with the consultant surgeon the same day for this coming Thursday. Has anyone experienced something remotely close and what was the outcome? I am so anxious! I know it's unlikely the big C but there is that niggling doubt.

  • I have a similar issue - lump under arm and breast thickening. I had a mammogram in January which was clear but I still felt something was not right. I saw the specialist on Saturday and he sent me for another mammogram. I'm having an ultrasound tomorrow and possibly, a biopsy. I hope I'll know more tomorrow but will probably have another wait. Getting there. I'll just be glad when this bit is done and I know one way or another. Hope you get sorted soon.

  • I went to the GP on the 10th of this month, they made the appointment at the breast clinic the same morning. They offered me the 21st but I wasn't able to attend so I'm there on the 23rd. I assume I'll have an examination and an ultrasound, maybe too young for a mammogram? I can't put the nerves to rest it's constantly in the back of my mind! X
