Lump at side of armpit

Hiya so 8 months ago I felt a lump on the upper bit of my armpit to the side, right next to the muscle that connects your arm to your chest. I was sent to the breast clinic where the consultant felt my breasts and the lump and said " it's nothing just a fatty lump on your muscle forget about it " I begged for a scan but she wouldn't. I then felt some swollen lymph nodes on my neck which I had scanned and they said they were reactive. It's 8 months later and the lump is still there, I went to another gp yesterday who said " it's just a tendon " but it's a clear lump. I just don't know what to do I feel like nobody is taking me seriously. I can pinch the lump but it feels like it's connected to a vein at the back ( something long at the back )

  • Hello Worriedsick2021,

It's reassuring that you have been told that it was nothing to worry about and that the GP also said it was just a tendon. It sounds like you are still very worried about it, so perhaps you could try and speak to yet another GP about this just to get another opinion on the matter. You can find out more about getting a second opinion on this page.

I hope it all turns out to be nothing of concern for you!

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you for your reply, I went to another doctor who said it's nothing without even feeling it, once I got her to feel she agreed there's a lump but it's muscle and says I don't have lymph nodes there, altho when I look online it says i do, after she had been feeling it later that day it swelled right up. She says she won't send me for a scan because it'll just feed my anxiety, but i feel like I'll have anxiety until a scan proves it's not lymph node. Surely it can't be grissle when there's nothing on the other armpit.. she made me feel really awful and that I need help with my anxiety. I just don't understand how doctors can say it's a lump and not investigate it
