Can anyone relate to this?

So i went on monday to my GP after feeling a painful tiny lump on my breast. After checking she said the reason its tender is because my chest is too big so everything around the chest area will hurt - especially since I was due to start my periods (started today). Told me to wear a support bra and come back after my periods had finished. The pain isnt anything like it was on monday. But when I touch it, it is slightly painful. I feel like it's more or less the same size. She said she would've given me anti biotics but wanted to wait. Is this common procedure? I know painful lumps are less likely to be cancer. But I feel like more should've been done to rule it out. I'm also only 23.

  • Hello Ana4,

A warm welcome to our forum. You did well to go to your GP after you felt this painful tiny lump on your breast. It's good news that the pain isn't as bad as on Monday so it seems your doctor has given you good advice and things are going in the right direction. Perhaps you could wait, as your doctor advised, just a few days until your period is finished and then go back and mention that the pain is still there and explain how things have developed since then.

If you are still worried after you have seen your doctor, you could consider getting a second opinion and checking whether you need antibiotics or not.

    Best wishes,
