Child lymphoma diagnosis

Hi, just looking for some reassurance or support from peoples experiences.

firstly, so sorry if you have had to experience what I am right now.
my 6 year old son has had two neck nodes since September 21, I found an armpit lump in feb 22 and he now has another armpit lump, 2 on the back of his head and a swollen left tonsil (none of the nodes or the tonsil are sore for my son, just swollen).

his bloods have been normal except one called ACE which is increasing and can indicate a condition called sarcoidosis. However, his Dr seems adamant this won't be lymphoma because his blood results show no inflammation.

he has an a ultrasound scan coming up this week but I have asked about biopsy due to multiple coming around his body? And I am being dismissed constantly. My son has lost his appetite and is so so tired in the past couple of months which is the extreme opposite to his normal self.

tbanks you

  • Hello Nicole.  First of all, I have not been through what you are going through, I don't have children but I believe that a Mother's instinct is never wrong where her child is concerned.  Nicole, you have a RIGHT to DEMAND  a second opinion and I think that you should cause a fuss and make sure that your son gets the treatment you believe that he needs.  Good luck Nicole, to you and your Son, Violet, xx
