Waiting on biopsy results and have to go for a ct scan

Hi I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago and have a ct scan in the morning. Is it normal for these types of tests to be done? I'm quite scared to have the ct scan done as the have already found a growth in my stomach. Im only 38 and I have severe mental health issues and it's been a hell of a fews weekw in-between testing. I know they say no news is good news but I don't seam to feel right within myself and the stress is not helping either so I jointed this group just to speak to like minded people in the same situation as mine.

  • I'm in a very similar position - 39 years old, and possible stomach cancer. After reporting weight loss, lack of ability to eat, vomiting, etc. I had a CT scan and endoscapy a week ago. They sent the biopsy samples off, and told me they'd be in touch with the results over the next few days.

The CT is apparently to look for any abnormal growths, and the endoscapy to see how the stomach looks and get samples - so they complement each other. The CT scan itself is quick and very unobtrusive. The worst of it is maybe needing an injection of a compund to help with the visibility of your blood vessels to the scan, but despite being afraid of needles it was fine for me.

I know it's hard, but the best thing is definitely not to speculate on an outcome without having it confirmed. And finding out is way better than sitting with cancer untreated (plus, the symptoms are unpleasant anyway). I'm trying my best to be paitent and wait to be told for sure, but it's hard. I'd say certainly get the tests done asap, cos then you can be told the outcome sooner than later - and treated if necessary. The sooner cancer is found, if it's there, the easier the treatment will be.
