Suspected Bowel cancer

Hi all,

My son is recovering from throat cancer, happily, he has started back at work, and apart from his eating still being affected, and becoming tired very quickly, he is doing well.

My husband colonoscopy and endoscopy yesterday, due to increased anaemia, and traces of blood in his stool. The results were inconclusive, as they couldn't see one part of the bowel. It's gone back to the referring physician to decide what to do next. I'd like some advice from anyone who has gone down this route. Thanks so much.

  • I'm really glad your son's recovery from throat cancer is going well Peakay although I'm sorry to hear about your husband and that his latest test results were inconclusive.

This must be very stressful but our community are here for you and hopefully those who have been in a similar situation to your husband will share their experiences and advice with you soon.

I hope it won't be long until you find out what happens next, but if either of you would like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses whilst you wait, then do give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very supportive and will do all they can to help and put your mind at ease.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k Peakay.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Steph, thanks for responding, everyone's always been so helpful here. It helps to share it. We're waiting for the referring dr to get back with next step. Got everything crossed.
