Concerned

Hi. This is my first time posting on here. A little bit about me. I'm a 46yr old women . My dad past away 3yrs ago with bowel cancer that spread to his liver. I have recently been suffering with pain in my abdomen and very loose stools, I'm always tiered and find walking a short distance takes it out of me. I've also lost weight and don't have any appetite. What I do eat gives me stmouch pains and I feel very bloated most of the time.I've had stool and blood tests that came back negative. I also had a FIT test that has come back as levels are high. My GP but me on a 2 week fast track referral. Within 2 days I had received a call . I'm booked in for a telephone consultation next week.  I have been told that I will definitely need further tests.Basically the reason for this message is I'm petrified of the outcome. I'm trying to stay optermistic buts it's hard. Any reassurance would be greatful . X

  • Sorry to hear about your dad and I totally understand where your at. I too have been there. I lost my best friend to Colin cancer r years before I was diagnosed.  Here's what's happened with me. I had an initial consult then I was booked in for a colonoscopy, that showed cancer, so I had some scans and a month later I had a surgical resection. I was diagnosed stage 2 and had no other treatment. I was 42. You have done the right thing and while the unknown is scary there is no diagnosis as of yet so be sure to breathe deeply and don't let your thoughts carry you away. It is possible to be ok xxxx keep us posted and I'm cheering you on
