Constipation - Rectal tumour

Hi

i have just been diagnosed with rectal cancer and am waiting on CT results to see it it has spread. My symptoms are really bad constipation and am going out of my mind! Anyone else suffer like this. I have taken lactulose but doesn't seem to be doing anything and although I get the urge it's hard to get out (sorry for tmi).

 

I'm fed up with feeling like this and the feeling of pressure is horrendous.

Help!

    Hi Andrea,  I'm sad to hear of your diagnosis, I hope you have a lot of love and support around you in this difficult time :) x

    I completely understand where you are coming from, I have been like that for 12 months now, I find sugar free sweets, mentos and liquorice help, they make things a little softer to pass if you get me :), not an ideal solution,and if your general diet is healthy, we'll what's saying? Everything in moderation :)

    many thanks for your reply. I have some tablets from the doctor so hopefully that will help.

    Very frustrating but will get there.

    I have suffered with bowel impacted. I phoned hospital . They told me to go and buy lazido.but you can get this on prescription.I had to drink 8 savers in water. It was gone the next day. Wonderfull. Mix of with pure orange squash. As it does not taste very good. But it does work.All the best. Mariane.
