Lower right abdominal lump

Hey... so I went to the doctors with some symptoms I've had over tge 6 or so months... spotting between periods, pelvic pain, bloating, frequent need to pee and this lump in my lower right abdomen... I've had all the STI checks and there's nothing there. This lump is firm and fist sized... I've been pregnant 5 times so I've regularly had a feel of my tummy previously and this lump wasn't there before. The doctor has referred me urgently but with the bank holiday and covid, I still don't have an appointment 3 weeks on... just wondering if anyone has had similar issues and was diagnosed with something? I've also developed a lump in my breast too recently so I'm freaking out.

  • Hello harriet123,

I can imagine this is such a stressful time for you and I hope that you will soon get a definite diagnosis. It's good that the doctors are taking things seriously and that you have been referred urgently so that the investigations can move quickly. How unfortunate though that things have been held up for you because of the bank holiday and covid and that three weeks on, you still don't have an appointment. It might be worth ringing them and asking whether they have an idea as to when you will be seen.

If you haven't yet had a chance to flag this lump you have noticed on your breast, make sure you give your doctor a call as soon as you get a chance as it's always a good idea to get any new lump checked out.

Keeping everything crossed for you that you won't need to wait much longer and that you get some clarity on all this very soon. Waiting can be nerve-racking and there are helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.

    Best wishes,

  • My referral from colorectal following a colonoscopy which found ovarian cysts to gynaecology oncology was pretty swift l saw the consultant in two weeks and then had repeated tests prior to surgery, once listed it was about 7 weeks.   They seem really quick compared with the other specialty that I have been to.
l hope you are seen soon and they sort out your lump.
