Left supraclavicular lymph node

Hi

Can I ask if others have been in this situation please. I found a small lymph node above my left collar bone about 3 months ago. I went to my GP at the time who wasn't concerned. I then got pregnant and the lump went to the back of my mind, unfortunately I had a miscarriage after 8 weeks. The lump is still there, it's smooth, less than 1cm, firm and I think its slightly mobile. I think it's got slightly bigger over the last 3 months. I have no other symptoms, aside from the enlarged lymph node.

I have an appointment with the ENT consultant on Saturday, but I'm absolutely terrified of this being cancerous.

Has anyone had such a long standing left supraclavicular node and had a good outcome?

  • Hello EmmaDJ

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent miscarriage. On top of the other health concerns that you're dealing with at the moment, it's understandable that you're feeling anxious about your upcoming appointment this weekend.

There are many reasons for lumps and bumps and hopefully, the Consultant will be able to give you some reassurance when you see them on Saturday.

We know that waiting for appointments can be a difficult time. Some people find that it can help to talk through their concerns and so I wanted to let you know that if you'd like to talk with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice and support that they can ahead of your appointment. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
