Hi, I'm new to the group and would love to hear anyone else's stories- the good the bad and the ugly!

Around 8/9 weeks ago I found a hard lump on the bottom of my head/top of my neck. I waited two weeks to see if it disappeared before seeing the gp. In that time two more lumps appeared, a large one on the back of my neck and a pea sized one behind my ear, all on my left hand side. 
 

the gp said she has arranged an ultrasound and I go for this on Friday. Following the ultrasound, from experience, what happens next? Do I make an app to get the results? Does the ultrasound technician give me results there and then?

im at peace with if it is cancer as my mum has had it, but I'd just really like to hear other peoples stories of going for an ultrasound, have you had lumps, etc
