Anxiety!!!!

In early feb this year I had a red mole removed from my upper thigh. Both GP and the dermotoglidt said it looked like nothing to worry about but it would just be removed as a just in case.

forward almost 11 weeks later and I still don't have my results back, I've rang the GP today to be told by the receptionist that there is no final result as of yet but the dermatoglist did see something whilst removing that he just wanted to double check with the doctor.

so now I am waiting to hear the final results from the doctor, my anxieties are through the roof, I'm only 24 and in 2 weeks time I will be leaving the country for 3 months which makes me worry I might be delaying some much needed treatment!

has anyone else had a similar experience of having to get a second opinion on the removal? If so what was the outcome?

I'm sorry to hear that you're still waiting on the results of a mole biopsy. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things, particularly as you'll soon be out of the country for a few months.

Have you spoken with the Consultant secretary and explained that you're going to be unavailable for 3 months? If not then I certainly think it's worth letting them know. I don't know if you'll be contactable whilst you're away, via phone or email, but it may be worth letting them know those contact details so that if the results aren't back before you leave then they can still get hold of you.

Alternatively, you could get in touch with the hospital's PALS department for some advice and support from them.

I hope that you have some positive news soon.

    Best wishes,
