3cm polyp found in bowel

I'm a 42 year old woman. I was taken in to the Surgical Assessment Unit Monday with abdominal pain and after a CT scan I was told I have a 3cm polyp in my bowel. I have had a cronogranin blood test and a 24 hour urine screening. The consultant is taking my details to a MDT meeting on Monday. 

 

I had a pretty awful experience at the hospital with them mixing my notes up and trying to treat me for a different issue so I have little confidence in them. 

 

Is the MDT meeting usual?

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

    Hi I'm of similar age 45 I'm in the same boat as you are I have a lump also in bowel was suppost to go to surgery next week but the docs had a meeting and said my heart is too weak at the min to go ahead with surgery I'm all new to this as only got told about the lump about a month ago so if you ever need a chat then we all must realise we're not alone I'm trying not to think about it to be fair so this is the first time I've talked about it only because I seen your ad and thought there are people similar

    Hello Cee, Tee,

                                Multi Disciplinary Team meetings are standard these days as all specialist sides put their findings and views forward to help assess the best course of treatment going forward..In my case it resulted in Chemo/Radiotherapy pre surgery,since l am still here 8 years on,l have to say that it promotes a better outcome,

    Thank you both for your responses. Needless to say I'm absolutely petrified. Upto now the hospital has been terrible. Poor practice, errors, lacking in empathy. I have zero confidence. 

     

    I don't even know how likely it is that it will be cancer. They gave me little to no info at all.
