Upset over mole removal

Last Thursday, I had a mole on my arm removed that's been sent for a biopsy for a possible melanoma and I'm awaiting the results (2-4 weeks)

 

I got the stitches removed today and feel so upset that its been removed. I have no idea why I feel like that as it wasn't even a full 1cm wide or anything but I look down now and it's like it's not my arm. I have well over 30 moles but that one was one of the more pronounced ones and one of the ones I've had for the longest.

    Hello LT13 and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat, 

    Waiting for results is never easy and I can imagine you are feeling rather anxious at the moment. There are helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news. 

    It's completely understandable why you are feeling upset that the mole has been removed. After all, this mole was part of you for such a long time that it must be a little strange not to have it anymore. But you will, I am sure, get used to it even though it may take a little time. 

    I thought I would also mention another member I just responded to, [@Amynorts85]‍ , who currently finds herself in a very similar situation, having had her stitches removed from a mole on her back just a few days ago. Feel free to read her thread and respond to her if you wish as it helps to talk to others who are currently in the same boat. 

    I hope you get some definite answers very soon and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Hello [@LT13]‍ i am awaiting results too it's been 3 weeks almost and was told to wait 2 to 3 weeks. 
     

    i understand how you feel about the mole. I had 2 removed one of them being a mole that I didn't expect to be removed and told by my dr it needs taking out for analysis as it's suspicious. It's in the middle of my back so I never saw it or could properly check it. I do have some scars now and I'm upset because I also have hysterectomy scars too.

     

    im waiting on a call tomorrow from my drs as spent most of today chasing them but my dr has been busy on call. 
    Hopefully I get some news soon!
