Lump under the skin abdomen

Hi,

I have a appointment to see the doctor about this next week but I am working myself up not knowing what I have found

Over the past few weeks I have had a dogey stomach to which I have been to the toilet alot more than usual. During this time I noticed now and then throughout the day a dragging / twisted feeling of my belly in the right side. On Tuesday I then noticed in the show and lump about 1.5 fingers in width about two inches away from my belly button and 1 inch up one the right side almost at the edge of where you're Ab muscle would be. It is quite firm and doesn't seem to move around.

I'm thinking it's a small hernia but from my "research" usually these are soft and protrude. You can't phisically see any protruding it's only when I run my fingers across it I can feel the lump.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar I'm just worried it could be something worse!!!!

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that you have some concerns about your health at the moment. It's good to know that you already have an appointment with your GP arranged.

We know that for many people this period of waiting for appointments can be difficult and many people turn to the internet for information. Unfortunately, most people never find information that actually applies to their situation, and what happens most often is that they are left feeling even more anxious. Please try and avoid searching online for information if you can.

There are many things that this lump can be and you've done the right thing in making an appointment with your GP. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance when you see them next week.

    Best wishes,
