Worried about Brain Tumour…..

Hi there,

Please may I ask if my symptoms do sound like possible brain tumour?

2 weeks ago I had a seizure (husband found me in the hallway face down) he said I was rigid for about 5 minutes and then unconscious after. I just remember waking up confused with paramedics around me.

I went to A&E and ended up in resus and diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. I've since had really fuzzy headaches, bizarre smells like something is burning but nobody else can smell it and internal twitching particularly after waking. Also extremely fatigued but have been for a while.

My GP arranged a CT brain scan for me which I had 2 days ago. I am still feeling so groggy and the seizure has really knocked my confidence. I'm just in a bit of a state really and wondered if anybody could advise? Particularly on how long the CT results may take?

I am 34 years old, female.

Many Thanks

  • Hello DazPopDal

I'm so sorry to hear about all you've been dealing with over the past few weeks. It sounds like a scary situation to find yourself in and it's perfectly understandable that you're worried about what may be causing the symptoms that you've been experiencing.

The length of time to wait for CT scan results really can vary depending on a number of factors but hopefully it won't be too long and the results will bring some answers.

If you'd like to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any information, advice, and reassurance that they can.

I hope that you have some answers soon and that things start to improve for you.

    Best wishes,
