Lump seems to have shrunk?

Hi guys. I found a large lump in my breast on 8/5, was seen by a GP on 10/5 who immediately said I needed a fast track emergency referral to see a specialist. I also had two smaller lumps in the other breast but GP said they felt cysty and that the large lump was the one that concerned her. I have an appointment this Friday 20/5 to have scans, biopsies etc. My question is has anyone had a lump seem smaller few days before seeing specialist and it's still turned out to be something sinister. I almost feel like a fraud as it seems smaller but there is definitely still something there.

Hope that all makes sense

Thanks for reading x

  • Hiya,

Don't ever feel a fraud, any lump needs investigating. Chances are it's a cyst or similar and nothing to worry about but there's a small chance it could be cancer so you must go. The clinic want to see you and give you that peace of mind .

Good luck, let us know how you go on.

    Jane xx

  • Hiya

Definitely go and get checked, I recently posted my story on the newly diagnosed thread.  I was recalled for a lump in my left breast initially, and an ultrasound picked up the area in the right  I could not feel any lump had no idea it was there  no symptoms and this was missed on my first mammogram along with an area of DCIS again in the left which was not picked up on mammogram only on a MRI.

Good luck and I hope all goes well
