Pea sized lump

For the past couple of months i have been having night sweats which is a pain in the ***. Havent thought anything of it until i was drenching my clothes and had to change or showwr or go outside to cool down. Then if it wasnt night sweats i would be red hot with a low tempreture! For the past month my glands under my neck have been swollen. Recently found a pea sized lump in my neck. Had blood tests done they have come back normal. Im unsure of what to do, do i push Gp for further investigation for a scan of the lump. Or watch and wait to see if it grows and my symptoms continue. Also forgot to add i am weirdly tired all the time. Im just usnure of what route to take with my GP if anybody else has any similar expereince to mine would you be able to pass abit of advice maybe.

  • Hi Dee,

I'm in a similar situation to you. Started with night sweats about 6 months ago, went to the doctors who brushed it off as hormones as I'd not long had a baby. Then about 3 months ago I noticed my lymph nodes in my neck were swollen so I went back to the doctors who did a blood test that came back fine so just told me to wait 6 weeks to see if they go.
After 6 weeks they were still there and I was feeling exhausted daily so went back to the doctors who referred me to the hospital for more blood tests and a chest X-ray. All them came back fine so I'm now waiting for a CT scan. The doctors don't seem particularly concerned but I've pushed for it for my own peace of mind. I know you shouldn't Google things but everything I've read about my combination of symptoms points to cancer and the worry was really starting to affect my daily life.

I'd say if you're really worried then you should definitely push for further tests.

  • Hi Kimmy,

Im 8 months post partam had night sweats striaght after having my baby checked with midwife she said hormones they went and come back. Been having them for about 5 months ish now and then feeling really hot. Tired then had swollen glands for a month and then noticed the swollen lymph node. Today I have found another swollen lymph node not that far from the other one. Ive been to gp twice this week already. Im just worried as a somone i know had the same situation and it wasnt a nice outcome. So i think im just over worrying hopefully be nothing. Got another appointment in 4 weeks time which they said they will act on if the lymphnode is still swollen.
