Waiting for biopsy results

Hi everyone,

2 weeks ago, I went for a mammogram and scan and the radiologist found 2 small lumps in the axillary area. He took some cell sample and told me it would take 5 to 7 working days.
As so many people, it's been a rollercoaster of emotion and so much anxiety.
He told me to call the breast clinic if I don't have any answers after 2 weeks so I have been trying that but getting voicemail.

Just so I am fully prepared, do we always get results at a following appointment whether they are good or bad? Or do we get a letter first with results then appointment?

I am so worried they will not say anything over the phone and maybe give me the appointment. So I was wondering if that is always the case?

Thank you in advance everyone

  • Hi [@Jukebox1014]‍ , I can imagine you are very worried. It’s an emotional, anxious time for you.

Keep ringing and/or maybe check the number is correct. I kept ringing a hospital on the wrong area code, one digit out.

You should get the results at your next appointment. I have never had a letter, I’ve had appointments made over the phone and had the next appointments organised while I’ve been at the hospital.

I believe (not 100% sure) that most results, good and not so good, are given in person, face to face.

Good luck and take care xx
