Mole on sole of foot

Hi, I've been to see a dermatologist today and I'm being referred for removal of a suspicious mole on the sole of my foot. It's just smaller than a grain of rice but has jagged borders and is multiple colors. I've had it for years but because of its location, thought it was a blood spot ages ago then just forgot about it. I'm usually on the ball with health concerns as I'm quite paranoid so im really angry with myself that I've sat on this for so long. Just hoping that the biopsy appointment is soon and the results don't take too long. How long usually is the turnaround for results etc?

  • Hi Samantha28,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. Try not to beat yourself up, you've done the right thing now and it's good to hear it is being investigated and that you should hear more soon.

Biopsy results tend to take around 2-3 weeks. It can sometimes be less or sometimes the wait can be a little longer, depending on how things are in a given area.

I hope it's not too long to wait for you.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Thanks for getting back to me Ben. I've spoken to the clinic today and they said they're currently booking for June for rapid referrals so not much I can do other thatn wait at the moment anyway.
