Fatigue and elevated ca125

Hi, I am a 46 year old female and a smoker. I have been back and forward to hospitals and doctor the past year because iv been so unwell..I found a lump in my tongue recently. I have an appointment on Monday to see the doctor to have it checked. I also have appointment in the hospital for 2 ultrasounds on my abdomen and my cervix.. I have had these done before and they found nothing. my bloods are elevated for the CA125 and they haven't found any cancer yet... I have been very unwell the past 12 months and needed some time of work..I have no motivation and a lot of fatigue..The consulting at the hospital has said I have to have key hole surgery to have a better look at my womb..they have done lots of bloods tests that all show the same about the ca125.. do you know when you have cancer? I know I'm not well and believe I have cancer somewhere but the doctors just haven't found it yet.
Am I going mad or would a person know this without a diagnosis? Everything seems to be very slow and I feel I'm getting weaker and sicker.. I have voiced this with my doctor and the consultant.

any advice or experience would be much appreciated?

ps. Nothing abnormal going on for me other than my health. Happily married with a happy family..

  • Hi Maur22,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these difficulties, and I hope you're able to get some answers soon. It sounds like you're doing all the right things by getting things checked with the medical team and by talking things through with your doctor.

It is of course only your doctor and the wider team who can give any answers. So keep going with any necessary tests and also keep discussing any concerns and asking any questions you have along the way.

It sounds like through the various appointments you have coming up that they are working to find out more, so hopefully you'll be able to get more information soon.

Wishing you all the best and I hope all goes OK at the appointment today,

    Ben
