Lymphoma? Slow growing

History began in 2017 had an enlarged cervical lymph node checked via ultrasound and was told it was just a large lymph node. Since then it has slowly grown about 4x the size as well as having around 8 more between both sides of the neck and about 15 between both sides of the groin. They are different sizes and hard. Around 4 of them that are the largest are sossage shaped, Some feel as though they are merging together. I have a range of different other symptoms including extreme fatigue, body aches and Pain, infrequent night sweats, severe lower stomach pain, nausea and constantly unwell with colds/infection. I went back and saw my GP on Wednesday who mentioned lymphoma. I've had blood tests for glandular fever but I'm quite confident that it's not that due to how long they have been there and growing. I'm on a 2 week referral to have biopsys. I was wondering if anyone had had this experience and it turned out to be something else entirely or if it was that? Thank you.

  • Hello Melissa_S,

What a stressful time it must be for you as you are waiting to find out more. I know your GP mentioned lymphoma as a possibility but try not to ancipitate what it might be if you can until you have received all your test results. It's good that they are being thorough and hopefully it won't be long now until you have the biopsy.

The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. There are helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
