Hi, I hope whoever reads this can really provide me with help that I need. About a month ago, I noticed this black stripe on my second right toenail.
I've got 2 of these, one on my left toe the third toe. The left foot isn't wide, it's just a thin line but is of the same colour and extends from the one end of the nail much like my right toenail.
So I booked a GP appointment last month on a weekend. Doctor gave me the oddest advice - he looks at it for one minute and comes to the conclusion that it's nail inflammation. I mention I've had no pain and it's not red at all like he suggests.
Not trusting his opinion, I book another appointment with my own GP on a weekday. My GP calls me after I send him pictures to advise he's gonna get me in with a GP that has experience with lesions. So about 2 weeks later I go to see him. He grabs out a microscope looking thing attached to his phone and to be fair he thoroughly inspects both toenails. After which he says that he sees nothing wrong, and showed me a picture of what it would look like if he saw something of standard. He compares it with what he can see under my toenails. And then tells me that if it was to become darker to then go see him.
Is this the right advice? I can't afford private due to the high prices, and I just feel scared for over a month now it's been on my mind every single day.
Thanks in advance!
