Petrified I have (HL) Lymphoma

hi - im a 28 YO male.. sorry to post but I've got the worst health anxiety and I've withdrawing me from my family and even work..

 

basically I've got really painful armpit pain, both sides, and I can feel several small lymph nodes that are really painful! (I've had this on and off for 2 years now), and they are the size of a small runner bean..

I have been to the doctors recently and they said they can't feel any lumps and that as I wasn't having any fever, and he felt my abdominal area that it was unlikely to be anything to worry about ... (it hasn't got any better)..

said all the blood tests he's taken recently - there's no reason for concern (CBC , kidney function etc..) but I know this can only be diagnosed via a biopsy from said lymph node...

 

So I've been all over doctor Google , and I suffer from Alopecia Areta ( it can be caused by lymphoma apparently  ) and I've lost a few KG in weight, at extremely tired all the time , really sore throat etc....

 

ive booked myself in for another appointment today with another doctor to see if they have another opinion of what this could be (for some reason I'm absolutely convinced it's HL OR lymphoma and I haven't got long left to live...)

 

 

 

sounds stupid but has anyone ever had painful swollen armpits and it's turned out to HL or Lymphoma?

    Hi. This doesn't sound stupid at all. I've had lymphoma, DLBCL, and all I would say to you is that if this has been going on for two years if it was lymphoma you'd probably be dead by now. A lot of your symptoms could be simply caused by anxiety and the best thing you can do is to get your second opinion to put your mind at rest. I too suffer from health anxiety, go and get the reassurance that you need, it's the sensible thing to do.

    Thanks for the reply - I guess it would've manifested by now if it has been that long?

     I've seen a doctor today and she's put me on 20mg citalapram and said she couldn't feel anything under my armpits at all ( the pain is very bad still, literally teared up as she was touching the area)...

    bloods came back all good apart from liver function that was bad..

     

    she has booked me in for an ultra sound in the next 2 weeks although she said she's "very sure" there isn't anything bad going on...

     

     

    still, my head is everywhere and I guess I need to get the anxiety under control...
