Feel fobbed off with swollen lymph nodes

Had an appointment today to with hematology, they had my ct results and said its all clear even though theres swollen lymph nodes and i have a few in groin both sides and arm pits, aswell as a lump in rib and chest, i also have horrendous night sweats. I asked if there going to biopsy as they cant tell me for sure its not lymphoma without biopsy and they said well it needs to go to an MDT meeting so it can be discussed but because there's loads of lymph nodes up we could biopsy one and it maybe clear and one we don't biopsy may not be so we don't tend to biopsy them as theres so many , but its good news as ct looks good. I was told it would go to an MDT meeting before my appointment which it hadn't and now feel like there not actually bothered because to them ct is ok even though lymph nodes are visible and they can physically feel them. I got upset and they asked me what was causing my anxietys to Which i replied with all My symptom again and the fact that A ct can't diagnose  lymphoma so they can't be sure it isn't that

I feel as though im being palmed off, they then tryed asking if i had thyroid or diabetic issues or a history of glandular fever which again I don't and my bloods have shown no infection

Sorry for the rant and if it doesn't make sense my heads mashed, feel like i came away knowing nothing and more stressed that im going to get no answers

  • Hello C.price92,

I am so sorry to hear you feel as though you have been palmed off and that you are left without any answers and still with these symptoms you are concerned about. It's good news though that the CT scan was all clear. I can completely understand though why you would want some definite answers. It might be worth perhaps seeking a second opinion on this just to give you peace of mind. You can find out more about how to go about getting a second opinion on this page

Hopefully others who have been through something similar before will pop by and share their experience with you.

I hope you get some clarity and the reassurance you need on this soon.

    Best wishes,
