Hi all. Ive been lurking on here and didnt know whether to post or not. Im 31 years old. No history of BC in my family. A few weeks ago, i found a lump in my left breast and went to the GP. I got an urgent referral to the breast clinic and had checks, ultrasound and then a biopsy. They told me it was nothing to worry about and were pretty certain it was a fibroadenoma. Anyway, the wait was not so bad for the results as felt fairly reassured and had done some research. Then I got the results and they said they weren't 100% sure it was a fibroadenoma and could be a phyllodes as the cells are very active. Ive had to have a consultation about it today and have surgery next week to remove it. Its all been confusing for me because I get they want to check but again today the surgeon was saying they are pretty certain its not cancer and a fibroadenoma. So why are they removing it? Seems they don't typically remove fibroadenomas. I'm happy to have it removed but I keep feeling like maybe they have more they suspect than they are telling me. Can't help my mind wandering and going to a dark place. Anyone had a similar experience or just have any insight?
