Something found in throat

Hi!

Wondering if anyone has experienced something similar and can put my mind to ease... so for the past year I've had problems swallowing, feel like I really have to think about it when I swallow and sometimes I can't swallow then it makes me panic and feel like I can't breathe.. anyway doctors put it down to my anxiety so learnt to live with it. Last 2 months I kept getting headaches and tingling in my face.. refered for a mri brain and all came back clear, however they've found a accidental find of something in my throat... other than cancer any idea what this could be ? I'm only 21 got another MRI for this in 2 weeks. So so scared.

  • Hey Courtney,

Firstly I know what you are going through as I went through something similar a couple of years ago i had an MRI that showed an incidental find. Its very easy to say try not to worry about it too much but its always there at the back of your mind. Did they say anymore about what it was that they saw? for me it was thyroid nodules and when i googled this it showed that there was less than a 10% chance of it being cancerous. (im in the unlucky 10% though.)

It could be that whatever it is is nothing of any concern and would have been there undiscovered for years if you hadnt had the MRI. As we have more and more scans using better and better technology we will accidentally notice more and more things but this is not necisarily an issue.

All the best for your next scans and congrats on the healthy brain (Thats more than can be said for all of the UK's politicians.)
