Recurrent Squamous

Hi

Feeling a bit anxious. I had a SCC removed surgically from my upper chest in 2015 and now have what looks like a new one that has come back slightly to the left of the old scar tissue. I've read that recurring SCC are more serious and more likely to metastasize. I have asked for a two week wait referral and am hoping the GP surgery will agree.

Does anyone else have experience of this?

Thank you.

  • Hello HSP42 and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat!

I am sorry to hear you have spotted a new SCC to the left of the old scar tissue. I am not sure myself whether a recurring SCC is more serious but you undoubtedly did the right thing to act quickly and get it looked at. I hope that your GP surgery will agree to the 2 week referral and that you can be seen quickly.

I hope that you will hear from other forum members who have had experience of this and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that you get some answers soon and that it turns out to be nothing of concern

    Best wishes,
