Lump under right arm pit

Hi, I'm 53 and I think I feel a egg sized lump under my arm, my GP agreed with me and referred me to breast clinic. At the clinic since I'd recently had a clear mammogram a doctor examined my breasts but was rather rude and dismissed me saying no one is symmetrical. I left feeling rather stupid. However the difference is quite substantial, nothing at all on left side and egg sized hard lump on right, more noticeable when I raise hands above head. Should I get a second opinion

  • Hi Mandygo,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear that you did not feel reassured by the doctor that you saw at the breast clinic.  It is correct that no two breasts are symmetrical, but  were your underarms examined?  If you are still not happy and your GP has already confirmed that  the lump was there, it might be worth having another word with your GP and telling them how you feel.

Your GP should be able to refer you for a second opinion.  Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
