Testicular Ultrasound

Hi,

im 35 and a few months ago had to rush to A&E because of sudden severe testicular swelling and pain. I was instructed that it could be testicular torsion. I was sat in A&E for 5 hours and it suddenly started to ease. I was examined by a nurse and was told it's probably epididymis and was given a injection in my leg and antibiotics.

fast forward to now and I have a dull ache in my pubic region and my testicles. I visited my doctor who has sent me for a urgent ultrasound scan. He examined my testicles and said there was nothing concerning but no sign of infection. Now I am thinking the worst. Could this be a sign of testicular cancer? Thanks

  • Hi Harryhg and welcome to the forum.

I know this dull ache that has appeared just a few months after your previous symptoms must be worrying but if you can, try not to jump to conclusions or assume the worst. Always much easier said than done but it sounds like you've received some positive and reassuring feedback from your doctor and hopefully the results of your ultrasound will back this up.

Waiting for tests and results is always tough but you are not alone as many of our members have been in this position and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

I hope this article will help keep your nerves at bay but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k Harry.
