Ovarian cyst causing prolonged issues

Hello I haven't been diagnosed with cancer so hope I can post this on here

I have been experiencing pain for a few years in my lower abdomen and have been in and out of hospital they discovered a small ovarian cyst on my right ovary which has been causing alot of pain although they said this is unlikely but the pain is where the cyst is. I get spotting and bloating and recently been feeling very very tired and noticed a small amount of weight loss but I'm overweight anyway so it's hard to notice I was 14 and half stone and in 9 months I'm now 13 stone but haven't really been doing anything different the hospital discharged me and said I would not be seen again as they don't think there's anything serious but I'm in so much pain and feel so tired it's affecting my life and making me miserable has anyone else had any of the same symptoms and what was done

I'm so worried it could be something sinister but surely the hospital would tell the difference between a cyst or a abnormal growth? Sorry to post on here but I'm so miserable and don't know were else to get support

  • Hello Tanith123

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some ongoing health problems that so far have not been resolved. It's understandable that you're feeling miserable and worried living with ongoing pain.

If the weight loss that you've experienced has not been through any intentional lifestyle changes then it would be a sensible idea to get in touch with your GP and let them know about this and all the other symptoms that you're continuing to deal with. It may be that they want to arrange additional tests and certainly, they should be able to help manage your pain levels.

I do hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
