Mole removal

Hi There

I recently went and had a mole checked out that had appeared to get bigger over time.

They took some pictures and today I have had a phone call to say that they want to remove it. They say it is a benign mole but they can not do the procedure they wanted to do with me being pregnant.

Can anyone tell me why a doctor may want to remove a mole if they think it is benign? Its just worrying me and with being pregnant I am finding it extra worrying.

And also from looking on the internet it seems mole removal in pregnancy is safe?

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently. it's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things.

It's not possible for us to say why they want to remove the mole nor why they're unable to do the procedure they wanted to do whilst you're pregnant. I'd suggest giving the Consultant secretary a call and explaining that you're unsure about the information you've been given and that it's causing you to feel more worried. Ask if someone can contact you to talk things through and explain exactly what the situation is.  Hopefully, they will be able to give you the reassurance you need.

I wish you well for the rest of your pregnancy and hope that this problem is resolved quickly.

    Best wishes,
