Cervix lump

Hi everyone Hope you don't mind me asking a question on here couldn't think who else to ask so thought I'd start with the experts   I have for past 4 years had heavy periods and take iron pills. The last few months have been heavier than usual. I unexpectedly found a lump on opening rim of cervix. The lump is very hard like bone small pea size and shaped and seems to stretch back into the cervix almost like a bar. I think my cervix is naturally looser owing to having 5 children vaginal delivery. I went to doctor she said she couldn't see anything to worry about and it all seems normal. I just touched it to see if it was still there (sorry for gross description) and now I am having bad period like cramp. I might be imagining things but it seems more prominent than it did 2 weeks ago Should I go for second opinion? I don't want the doctors to think I'm some sort of weirdo asking for another examination   I am overweight haven't had spotting but have been more exhausted than usual. Appetite decreased marginally. I have been getting crampy like twinges between cycles.

  • Hi, welcome to the community,

I'm really sorry you're worried and experiencing this right now. I'm by no means an expert with this, however if you are worried then for sure make another appointment and get yourself checked out. I know you've been seen already but going again doesn't make you a weirdo I promise, it just means you're concerned and want to be checked over again and there's nothing wrong with that. It probably is nothing to worry about but I defos think it's worth seeing your GP again just to be sure. If you're worried about seeing the same GP then you could always ask to see a different one this time as well.

Best of luck! I hope everything turns out ok :)

    Love Jess xx
