Found a lump, terrified.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share some feelings as I'm absolutely terrified...

Last Saturday I found a very small lump in my left breast. It's moveable (I think???) but firm and painless unless I prod it too much. I went to the walk in centre on the Sunday and the nurse sent the notes to my doctor who then called me on Monday to say she'd referred me to the breast clinic. I haven't heard anything yet... it's Easter weekend so won't hear until Tuesday I guess?!
I also have random "pains/throbs" in my arm pit/breast but I wonder if that's paranoia... I'm 35 with 2 young children and I'm just so frightened. Does anyone have any advice/helpful info?

Thank you

Julia x

  • Hello! Yes I've got my appointment at the clinic on Monday so 2 weeks after my initial referral. How about you?? How are things?

  • That's great news - glad things are moving. Was the same for me - appointment was 2 weeks on the dot after the referral.

I'm good thanks - just waiting for results next week. I'm over the halfway mark of waiting since my appointment, which helps somehow!

Good luck for Monday - hope it goes well - it will be good to have it done x

  • Thank you- I'm hoping it'll just be a check and nothing more (obviously) but I'm still feeling so scared about it all

How have you been feeling? Is your lump big? Mine is very small but I don't know if that's a good or bad thing! X

  • I've been good thanks. The wait is getting easier as it's getting shorter although I'm sure I will be nervous again when the time actually comes.

I'm not sure - the consultant described it as a really small lump but also said the radiologist thought it was about 2cm across which was bigger than I expected! It felt a bit smaller than that to me.

How are you doing? Today and the weekend to get through - you are nearly there x

  • Hi Julia, how are you doing now? I hope you're ok xx

    Love Jess xx

  • Hi Jess thank you so much for asking!

I'm much the same to be honest, just so scared of what might be. I've developed a bad lower back over the last month or so (could be my mattress) but I'm paranoid it's related to the lump so I keep thinking the worst, it's very draining.
    How are you?

  • That's really good you're doing ok You sound much calmer than me, what's your secret?! X

  • Hi all!

Ive stumbled across this feed as I'm in a panic, looking for answers, being Dr Google, belts of anxiety....

Firstly I just wanted to remind everyone .. YOU, WE are not alone. I pray that everyone gets good news in some form.

I've had two ultra sounds, two mammograms, a biopsy and a titanium clip fitted in my right boob. I'm 29 years old and was bang in the middle of trying for our first baby. I'm beyond scared as there was a calcium build up in my lump. Has anyone had this before?...

Have you had your results yet? I have been told that my results will take 2 weeks. I asked my consultant questions and she wasn't positive at all which made me freak out .. I guess it's important to remember these, amazing professionals just can't say either way until the results are in. I agree, waiting is the worse part. I can't sleep either!

    Sending love x

  • Hello!

Oh gosh that sounds like you've been through a lot recently - have you had any sort of diagnosis as to what the lump is? How are you feeling??

It's such an anxiety driven time isn't it - all I've had done is an initial appointment at a walk in, my clinic appointment is on Monday but it's so hard not to panic and freak out isn't it.

    Hope you're ok x

  • Hi Jules!

Thank you for your reply. Sorry I've only just replied now I've been trying to stay off Dr Google all weekend but hasn't helped at all haha.

No, no inkling as to what it may be. The nurse said to me "it's not a cyst" but the consultant didn't say a word. I didn't feel the best welcome when I arrived at my local clinic either. I'm terrified of what the outcome may be.

Im wondering if anyone else has had calcium clusters found in their lump or around and it's turned out to be ok?

Im going to NY on Wednesday for my 30th and although I'm looking forward to some fun I don't want this to ruin my holiday like it did my honeymoon last week.... awful!

Thanks again for taking the time out to reply to me.
