Lymphoma worry

My son has multiple swollen lymph nodes on his neck. He has these since 2018 as he had a series of ear infections that year. Obviously got these checked at the time and was told it's all normal, fighting infections Ect. I have now noticed very small ones in his groin area. I took him to GP. They referred him to the Paediatric centre at the local hospital. I have been going out of mind with worry. We did a blood test privately as couldn't bear to wait until the NHS One. Turns out he is anaemic. He has no symptoms whatsoever but I cannot help worry this might be something sininter.

His ESR level was elevated at 18 and Haemoglobin (8.9) and ferritin were level was extremely low.

The GP called and said he will chase up the appointment for further investigation at the hospital but it is a very worrying time for me. I can barely eat or sleep without thinking of this.

My question is if it was lymphoma, would he not have some

symptoms by now? It's been more 3 years plus. Also, could the anemia be correlated to lymphoma. I know googling is not good but I can't help it and I am driving myself insane.

Any thought or advice would be much appreciated.

  • Hi. My son is 5 nearly 6 and has had a lump on his neck for a couple of years now. He had all the checks too and they wasn't concerned. Tonight however I have noticed a new bigger lump on his near the old lump and I too am worried sick. Wish it wasn't bank holiday weekend and the doctors were open! Sorry I'm not helping you much but just to let you know you're not alone in the worried Mom group! Xx
