Concerned about Colon cancer

Had a FIT Test last year along with a colo alert from private healthcare that came back negative.

I have continued to have bloating and stool problems ever since. Recently noticed blood when I wipe as well.

Most concerning is recently I noticed a lymph node under my chin on the right side of my neck has come up. It's rock solid and its really concerning me.

I heard when cancer metastasizes it can spread to lymph nodes. Am I thinking too much into this?

Because of bank holiday going to have to wait till Tuesday to get a docs appointment.

Would really appreciate some feedback as I'm terrified.

Thank you

  • Hi, I appreciate how worrying it can be. Blood when wiping and bloating etc doesn't have to.mean you have cancer. Various other things could cause these symptoms. As you have recieved 2 negative result I would say are great odds that's your not dealing with colon cancer. A lymph node being up under your chin could be from so many things too, I get one that really swells if I have cold sores  for example. Try not to allow yourself to fall down a rabbit hole of imaginings. People miss out on the beauty of life doing so. Do speak to your gp. It would be worth getting a check up. Breathe deep and I hope for the best for you x

  • Yeah, my understanding, though I am certainly not an expert, is that it would be unusual to get a negative FIT result and still have colon cancer. I also think you mentioned in another post that you are relatively young, am I right? I think it is also relatively unusual to get colon cancer under the age of 40.

There are many things that could cause your symptoms, I think. Hopefully, you will get it figured out soon and it will turn out to be something really minor.

  • Usual yes, but not unheard of. I've had it twice before the age of 23 x

  • When I was going through treatment they kept a really close eye on my lungs and liver as I think it was the most likely to spread to those organs? Obviously I'm not a doctor so don't take my word on that and I can't comment about the lymphnode. Have u got any other symptoms apart from bloating and blood? I know it's concerning but theres so many other things that could mean, there's not a lot that can be done until you can speak to your doctor on Tuesday so just try and stay busy this weekend and take your mind off it until then. Hopefully your doctor will help reassure you x

  • Hey, i'm a minor and have been having severe bloating, am bleeding sometimes, i have severe cramping 24/7 and my stools are very very loose to the point where it's (gross to say this i'm sorry) but like thick liquid and i feel the need to go all the time, however sometimes they are still very loose but i am constipated and barely anything comes out? I have been having these problems for around 2 months now. i have been to the doctors and have had a blood test and a stool sample done, half of the blood test results came back which said i was anaemic and had a high white blood cell count. my stool sample came back as having high inflammatory markers. I have another blood test on tuesday and also have been referred to the hospital for further testing but this will take a while.. I noticed i had a little lump around the anus around a month ish ago however didn't think anything of it. But i had one or two lumps appear a few hours ago ,i can't really tell, that are about 2cm large and are hard, yet it doesn't hurt? this could be hemorrhoids however the same type of symptoms are with colon cancer. My GP said it's highly unlikely that it would be this type of cancer as it isn't very common in people under the age of 40, nevermind a minor. I'm just confused on how it appeared literally immediately for no reason. Google doesn't give me this answer. Now i don't know whether to book another appointment at the doctors or wait and see but it is very uncomfortable, not painful but uncomfortable. I could be overthinking everything but as it appeared so suddenly it scared me, I am just slightly worried.Any advice would be very helpful please?

I think i just need a little bit of reassurance but i need someone to be truthful of what they think this possibly could be?

colon/bowel cancer also runs in the family, but i also have a family member with crohn's disease so i'm not sure?

Im sorry for the long paragraph and to dump this on you but you obviously have this problem so i thought it would be best to talk to someone with the experience and i'm just abit anxious about this haha
