I'm so ill, its got to be bad

I've lost all of my family to cancer and I'm sure it's coming for me. I feel utterly drained I've not eaten for a week and my gp says it's a virus but I've had 'tummy bugs' as he called it but I constantly sweating but my body temperature is 35.3° which is low so I'm shivering but sweating, it's all very confusing. I've got a niggling pain in my right side just under my ribcage but my doctor ignores that fact! I'm just hoping my body gives up so I can get some peace, I've not had a decent sleep in over a week and I'm already giving up on living. I've genuinely had enough.

  • Hi there! So sorry to hear your you aren't feeling well. Let's just take one thing at a time:

    1. You say you haven't eaten for a week ! That is why you feel dreadful. You need to be watered and fed regularly to remain healthy. You will feel lethargic  if you are not eating sensibly at the right times. Water is essential  if food is not ! Please start eating again and stay hydrated. Your rib cage pain may certainly be to do with not eating / acid reflux etc.
    2. You may very well have a virus and if so you need plenty of rest . Have some early nights and try to relax into a deep sleep.
    3. Your doctor will not send you for scans ( CT, MRI, etc ) on the evidence you've presented with. However, a full blood test and urine sample will assist his diagnosis as will your blood pressure and heart rate. These can be done relatively quickly.
    4. I am sorry you have had family members who have had cancer but please be assured that most cancers are not inherited or linked to genes. I know you are scared but the best way to be free of this fear is to return to your doctor / another  and ask for  a blood test.

    Hope this has helped.

  • Thank you Sue

I have bloods, stool and urine samples being taken tomorrow. I don't think I've ever felt so ill! I know that people will think I'm just being over precautious with what happened to my family but I kid you not, my little sister was 34, mum was 62, dad was 72, grandparents in their 70s aunties, uncles cousins, their kids. I feel like God is a spoiled kid with a magnifying glass and my family were the ants and he's making an aim for me. I'll let you all know. Thanks sue

  • Just got off with 111 and they don't have concerns, I guess they hear so much of it that a lot slips through the net. I've accepted your friend request:happy:

  • Stupid question of the week, have you had a pcr test for covid?  Not a flow test, but a pcr test. Those flow tests aren't really reliable now. My daughter had covid as did my wife and neither of them ever tested positive on those. It was pcrs that picked them up. I did test positive on a flow test. But others i know didn't.

If you have and that's not a concern, then going low, still means your body is fighting an infection (bacterial or viral) of sorts.
