Bowel Cancer symptoms- what’s your experiences?

I had a perforated diverticulitis in 2014, was down for emergency surgery and a stoma, but got bumped and antibiotics started working. I had Ischaemic colitis last year in Feb, again down for emergency surgery but bumped and it started to settle. I've had issues since 2014, flip between constipation and diarrhoea never anything between. Live on movicol and/or Buscopan

I also have systemic lupus.

I had a kidney infection in Feb and have since had chronic diarrhoea. Left side abdominal pain, rectal pain. The poo is kinda orangey. I've not eaten much in 2 months now. I'm exhausted, when I go to the loo, even just for a wee there's a LOT of really foul smelling gas, and I've been getting leakage of watery poo between toilet visits.
I was cleaning up in the shower over the weekend and I felt a small hard lump, like a small pea. I have a heamorroid but it doesn't feel the same

I have private health insurance through work so I've got a gastro consultation appointment on 21 April and im fully expecting them to say there's a growth/bowel cancer

has anyone been diagnosed and can tell me what symptoms they had? I'm 43 female don't smoke or drink but my bowels have always been off all my life.
My last CT scan was Feb but they only repeat what they were looking for is there or not (in that case it was kidney related)

 Thanks

  • Welcome to the forum cbc although I'm very sorry to read about everything you've been experiencing and contending with since 2014.

It's completely understandable, and natural, to be worried about this, especially after everything you've been through, but if you can, try not to let your mind get ahead of itself or assume the worse. Always much easier said than done but there could be many explanations for your current symptoms and I hope your gastro consulation appointment next week will get you a step closer to some answers and peace of mind.

Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences with you soon but in the meantime, we'll have our fingers crossed for good news on the 21st.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
