Swollen lymph nodes in armpit over 2 years.

Hello,

I guess I'm looking for reassurance or advice, I don't know really. I'm 35, have had swollen lymph nodes in both armpits for approximately 2 years, one being more swollen than the other. I had an ultrasound over a year ago and they just said that it's a normal lymph node and that was that. It never went away go I went back to the GP to be referred for another. When I had the most recent ultrasound she said that I should have had a biopsy last time but she wanted to wait 6 weeks before doing another now. I'm at my wits end with worrry now. The lump is pea sized, moveable and I occasionally sweat at night but not excessively so don't know if this is considered night sweats. Has anyone had any similar experiences? I'm so worried about it.

  • I had a swollen lymph node in my axilla  for about 15 years my breast surgeon was checking it at breast appointments and only having it removed when it became inflamed and sore, it was not cancerous, but took ages to heal as it leaked loads of lymph for a couple of months, through the wound.
l was about your age when I found the first node.
lf you are concerned about the situation l would see my doctor asking for a referral to breast clinic.

    take care
