Most lumps turn out to be benign than not.

Also, don't beat yourself up over what you should or shouldn't have done. You can't change the past, so just focus on what currently is if that makes sense. We've all made questionable decisions in life, and we'll make many more. No one hopes or wants to find lumps, and it's just one of these things. Fear and anxiety can do strange things to most level-headed folk. You've seen about it now and that's all you can do.

Can hard lumps be cysts etc? My doctors said it was a hard lump/area. So worried!

(I'm scared to google too much and find it more helpful on here..)

On paper, the go to answer is, if a lump is hard and not movable, get it seen to pronto.

However, the reality is, there isn't a one size fits all answer. My mum who was in her late 60's when she found a hard immovable lump got diagnosed with a calcified cyst. It was harmless. My wife who got diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of last year was the opposite. Her lump was more on the soft side and was movable.

The truth of the matter is, no one other than a specialist, tests and a biopsy can give you the answer you seek. As for stay off Google. That is sensible. Google is not a diagnostic tool. Google will never tell you what you do or don't have. Can only and will only tell you what you may or may not have. Google is a good tool once you have a diagnosis, not just cancer, but anything, as there's a wealth of information out there and can put you in touch with others going through similar illnesses. But aye, it's not a diagnostic tool. Plus, Google go with the most popular answers, as to divert the largest swathes of traffic to certain sites. This is why every symptom tends to lead you to an answer that indicates you most probably have a cancer. We as humans seek out the most sinister answers, and we then act all surprised when we get them.

You're currently going through one of the toughest moments in your journey when it comes to mental health, and there isn't a magic bullet that will change that. It will be tough. Call the breast clinic and see if you can get a cancellation. It's what we did, and we got one.

Sorry too meet you here, please don't beat yourself up about not  going straight away, you can't change the past and you have done the right thing going now. we are all guilty of putting things off! 
I Didn't go for a while either, I had burning for a long time before I went about my Lump I didn't put the 2 together, I'm 38 and have two boys. 
I would definitely take someone to the breast Clinic with you. Breast are so complex it could be nothing to worry about but it's always nice to have someone with you. 
 

4 weeks is a long wait, I would ring the clinic and ask to go on the list if they have any cancellations. 

you will need lots of support from your family and friends, don't keep your worries to yourself

Most of the lumps have been hard especially the cysts the milk ducts felt like wire , The abscess was soft, red, swollen and sore.

I have had lots of antibiotics for problems with the milk ducts and cysts over the years. 
various lumps have been removed especially on the left breast.
