Symptoms re appear 4 months after LLETZ

I had LLETZ treatment in September ive been telling my gp my symptoms are resurfacing but they done swabs and reassured me to wait for my appointment with gynaecologist in may and get a smear done, I went to the clinic today as it was quicker to get the smear there and the lady doing my smear was highly concerned when she looked at my cervix it was very tender I was crying in pain so she got a more experienced nurse to take a look who examined me and explained the right side if my abdomen felt tender and that what was left of my cervix was extremely inflamed so I would need to go to hospital today, they could not get me in to see the specialist I would need she tried hospitals all over as she was concerned but managed to get me in for 7pm tomorrow.

also I had swabs etc done at my gp to check for infection and all other things they swab for and all was normal.

She also said they took a lot when they done the LLETZ treatment which I was aware, I'm worried because im sure the cells are back as I have same symptoms and more but im worried because the cells have less cervix to get through and if there are cin3 cells that it will give a higher chance of spreading outside the cervix, I know no one can answer this but I'm just voicing my worry and seeing if anyone has experienced this too.

thankyou

  • I'm so sorry for all the stress and worry this is causing Sophie but I hope your hospital appointment went well last night and your mind has been put at ease about your symptoms and current situation.

  • Thankyou for your support and advice, at my appointment they ruled out or the usual like infections etc and the doctor referred me to see the gynaecologist again to have a colposcopy and possibly biopsy to check as she thinks my symptoms are more than likely connected to that as everything else came back ok.

I'm just waiting for the appointment to come through now fingers crossed it's not too long.

thanks again I will ring the helpline if I do need to get any advice.
