Core biopsy

I have had inflamed lymph nodes and they are going to be doing a core biopsy. It doesn't sound that bad. Has anyone had this and would you bother with time off? I had thyroid cancer before and now they are testing for this and tbh I am feeling quite frightened

    A very warm welcome to our forum. 

    I am sorry to hear that you are facing further tests. Can I ask where your swollen lymph nodes are? It is only natural to feel frightened, but not all swollen lymph nodes are sinister. They can react to a simple infection and, although most will eventually subside, some never go back to their original size. Do you have a date for your biopsy yet? I sincerely hope that it all goes well.

    Hi Moo,

    Some biopsies seem to take longer to come back than others. I'm afraid that I don't know how long the ones for the groin take. Make sure to ask when you can expect your results back, at the time that you have your biopsy.
