Positive HPV with abnormal cells

Hi ladies! 

just wow.. looking at all of your stories has made me feel so much better! 
 

I got my letter scheduling me for a colposcopy next week as I've tested positive with the HPV virus/l and abnormal cells.

my doctor informed me there's a borderline change in cells hence the colposcopy.. my last smear was 3 years which came back normal, I also had a baby 4 months ago so I'm all over the place! 
 

I'm petrified of the colposcopy.. not because of the procedure but the results!

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some abnormal cervical screening results. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious but it's great to hear that you've found some reassurance here on the forum. 

    Many women have the same kind of results that you've described and the changes are treated quickly with a colposcopy. It can be hard waiting for appointments and results but try to remain positive if you can. 

    If you want to talk things through with someone you might like to call our nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any reassurance that they can.
