Found lump in scrotum

Hello all.

Last month I found a small lump not hard but soft in my scrotum. I went to the sexual health clinic as i couldnt get a gp appointment. The doctor there told me it wasn't testicular cancer and i was apparently probably too young to get it (31) i think he didnt even check my age. Anyway he said my gp surgery would call within 10 days to give a scan date ultrasound to make sure. He said it was probably nothing. I had no pains at the time. 1 month later i now have a pulling pain in my scrotum and groin pain. Feels like my testicle are being pulled slightly almost. I called my gp to find out whats happening and they have had no information about anything. They told me to call the sexual health clinic and chase it up. Im waiting for a call back from the sexual health clinic. Just worried now and fearing the worst.

  • Hi

the best thing to do is  to phone the GP and request an ultrasound as you are worried. Explain that things have been delayed and you are concerned. They can send you for a scan within two weeks and you will have a chance to talk it over with your Dr. If you explain you are worried, they will help prioritise you. The NHS is prioritising testing and encouraging people to contact the GP.

what I would say is no one in the forum can offer you the reassurance you need, although there is lots of wonderful support. Only your GP can put your mind at rest. Googling things will likely just scare you so don't hesitate, call the surgery in the morning.

By way of explanation and possibly reassurance, my son who is 28 had this too. He was very worried and went for a scan. He imagined the worst but it turned out to a vericele, which is like a varicose vein and not uncommon. There are several non sinister things but we all jump to the worst because it's scary. And it's ok to be scared. Call in the morning and all the best.
