3cm lump behind ear on hairline, one in hair too.

Hi, I thought I just passed to have some advice.

I thought I just posted some advice.

My brother recently had some problems with his glands and it give me a kick up the butt to go to the doctors as I've had a large hard immovable lump in my hairline behind the bottom of my ear for over four weeks now. It feels smaller on the surface but you can pinch it from either side and it's the size of a large grape (makes me feel sick feeling it but doesn't hurt)

I have an appointment at ENT in two days and have since noticed another hard immovable lump further up into my hair and a lymph node swollen on the other side of my neck albeit small.

wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. I haven't had many other symptoms other than slightly nauseous and headaches on a late afternoon/evening. Tiredness wise I have three young children so you can only imagine.

anyway im hoping that all is fine but wondering if anyone has had a lump in a similar place.

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Chloe and welcome to the forum.

I was just reading your post and noticed you have an ENT appointment tomorrow so I wanted to wish you good luck and let you know we'll be thinking of you.

I'm sure some of our members who have contended with similar symptoms will offer their support and tell you more about their experiences soon but if there's anything you'd like to discuss with one of our nurses before your appointment, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to help.

In the meantime, we'll have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi! I had an ultrasound at ENT and they said they were reactive nodes but not sinister.

Following this I had still been very tired, lightheaded, headaches and lots of other small symptoms that were bad but not bad enough to complain about on their own. So I went back and the doctor did some bloods. Came back I was severely B12 deficient and needed 6 loading doses of b12. (Now waiting for pernicious anaemia results) Anyway i had them and expected a miracle cure but no. Other than curing the headaches I'm still the same. So I went back and I've had a chest X-ray and currently waiting for the results. Also having a heart ecg, just to rule things out.
